We now have a New Year Rally for 2024!

The New Year Rally is moving this year to Winthorpe Community Centre, Nottinghamshire, only a few miles from Newark with lots to do in the area.

The marshals, Martin Critchley, Sue Bradbury and Ian and Helen Williamson who have already booked some great professional entertainment for you and will keep you updated with their planning.

As the rally is limited to 40 spaces, we suggest you book early to avoid disappointment and end up on the waiting list.  To secure your place on the rally, go to Rallies, Rally Programme and select the New Year Rally to book.

Following on from feedback at the AGM in September 2023,  the committee agreed to make a few changes to the centre website.

Suggestions - We now have a 'Suggestions Page' on the website where you can submit your suggestions or ideas.  The form is sent to the centre secretary and the content presented to the next committee meeting for discussion.

Meeting Decisions - We now publish a precis of decisions made at committee meetings.  This can be viewed on the website under the 'Committee' tab then click on 'Committee Meeting Notices'.  Please note that these will only be published once the previous meeting's minutes have been agreed.  This means that what you see on the website will always be at least one month behind.

Defibrillator Guidance - We have also created a Defibrillator Guidance document.  This should be published very soon under the 'Information' tab.

Rally Rules - We have changed the name of 'Rally Rules' to 'Centre Rules' as this better describes the rules that members need to follow.

Please support our Sponsors - our sponsors for this year are shown on our sponsors page.  They pay to have their adverts on our website and the income from this offsets the cost of running the website.  When you are in need of products and services, please visit our sponsors page first and support them where possible.

Rally at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park 19th to 21st January.

Due to cancellations there are now a few spaces available on this rally. Please go to the rallies tab if you want to book on.

2024 Rallies are now live!  Go to the 'Rallies' tab and 'Rally Programme' to look through the programme for 2024.  We have some great venues and events for you to choose from.

Please note:  Where rallies are shown to have extra days to a normal weekend, these may be available at an extra charge per day as an additional cost to the weekend rally fee.  Please check the details shown for each rally once they go live before booking.

If any of our members have any suggestions they would like taking forward to our committee meetings, please contact the centre secretary, Tracy Orchard via the email link on the committee tab.

Although the ticket site is showing as sold out for the Saturday evening of the rally (14th Oct), all those booked on the rally will be able to reserve tickets for collection on the night by contacting the rally marshals.

The centre has purchased a Defibrillator to be used on rallies.  It is a fully automated version which gives verbal instruction to anyone who needs to use it, should the need arise on the rally field.  It is easy to use and, although we hope we never need to use it, it is a very worthwhile investment of centre funds.   Many thanks to Committee Member, Mick Allen who organised a donation of £250 from Centre Parcs towards the cost of the equipment.

Unfortunately the bonfire rally at Walesby Scout Camp 3/5 November 2023 has been cancelled by the Scouts. We are informed that this is because their insurers and the firework display company have insisted that there should not be any caravans on site even though we have been going there for some years without issue.

The marshals will be contacting all those that are booked on to inform them of this.

If anyone has any suggestions for an alternative venue with an organised bonfire/fireworks display and suitable space for a caravan rally could they please contact the Rally Secretary (via the email link on the committee page) as soon as possible.

The rallies on the new programme for 2023/24 have now been published on the website.  Please go to 'Rallies', 'Rally Programme' to view and book.

Our sponsors pay each year to have their adverts placed on the centre's website.  We are very grateful to them for their sponsorship as this income helps to offset the cost of maintaining and updating the website.

If you are in need of any services, either for your outfit or leisure, please check out our sponsors page before looking elsewhere. We want to support them as they support us.

The new Chairman, Martin Critchley was elected at the Centre's Annual General Meeting held at North Muskham Village Hall yesterday (25/10/22).  In addition to those who were re-elected, we also welcomed 4 new committee members who we hope will bring fresh knowledge and ideas to the centre.  Congratulations to Martin and his partner Sue, and welcome to new committee members, Glenn, Andrew, Mick and Helen.

You can view the new committee members on the Committee page!

AGM

All committee positions are open for re-election at the next AGM meeting where elections for the new comittee will take place.  All committee positions are detailed on the 'Committee Roles' page under 'Committee'.  If you feel you would like to get involved, have a browse at the different committee roles and see if there is anything you may be interested in. If you want more information on any of them or have a general query about time commitments etc, please feel free to speak to any committee member.

Nominations must be submitted using the nomination form in the 'downloads' section of the website.  All nominatinos must be received by the Centre Secretary by two weeks before the AGM (by 11am on Sunday 11th September). Please send to secretary@nottscentre.com

The AGM will take place on Sunday 25th September at 11am.  It is being held at North Muskham Village Hall - a rally has been organised for the event, please see 'Rallies' for further details.  All members are welcome to attend the AGM whether or not they are on the rally.  Please ensure you have your membership card with you.

Rally Launch

The rally launch will be held at 11am on Saturday 24th September at North Muskham Village Hall.  This is where we share the rally programme for the forthcoming year and volunteer marshals are sought to run them.  As with the AGM, you do not have to be on the rally to attend and can just visit on the day for the rally launch. You must be a Nottinghamshire Centre member to run a rally.

Should you be interested in running a rally but cannot attend the meeting, you can submit a request by using the 'rally launch remote request' form.  This is available in the download section of the website.

We still have a few spaces available on the holiday rally at Harlyn Sands, near Padstow, Cornwall which is being run over two weeks, 30th July to 13th August 2022.  The rally field has fabulous sea views and direct access to a dog friendly beach.  The holiday park sits on a headland (Trevose Head) within easy walking distance of 5 beaches and is directly on the costal path.

The cost is £285 for one week bookings and £525 for two week bookings which is a substantial reduction on the cost of booking direct with the site.  For more information  or to book click on 'rallies', 'rally programme then scroll down to the Harlyn Sands Rally.  The initial online booking form will go to the rally marshal who will then contact you by email to send you the rally booking form (as further details are required) and an information flyer for the rally.

The Nottinghamshire Centre Committee have spent a great deal of time thinking about and discussing what our members and the public might want from our website.  As a result of this we commissioned a re-design of our website that we agreed would better meet the needs of everyone.

We decided to keep the basic format of the site as we believe this already presents the relevant information about our Centre and what we do in a clear, uncluttered and unambiguous way.  As part of the re-design and to improve user experience, we have added more information and greater functionality which we hope will help you to navigate around the site easier and provide you with more, up to date information.  We really hope you like what we’ve done!

The re-designed site includes:

Drop Menus – The drop menus will take you directly to the information you seek without having to click through numerous links.

A waiting list function – This is managed electronically, if the rally is full and you complete a form to go on the waiting list, the system automatically transfers your booking across to the ‘booking list’ should a place become available.  Both you and the marshal will receive notifications at each stage.

Members Area – This section of the website allows registered Centre members greater access and functionality. For example, you will be able to upload and view photographs that are only visible to registered Centre members.

Information for Rally Marshals - There is a section that only Rally Marshals can see that provides them with all the information they require to run a rally, including guidance documents and forms for them to download.

More Information – We have also included more information for ralliers to assist them with regular queries such as: How to cancel a rally and How to pay for a rally.

Have a look through the website, hopefully you'll agree that it provides you with a much improved user experience and more information that is presented in a clear and uncluttered way.
